El Punto

While at times we seem to forget, the fact remains that we are a part of this beautiful world. Using pen and ink on paper or board, I combine countless dots to create colorful illustrations of our natural world and abstract illustrations representative of our connection with ourselves. My goal is to encourage us to look beyond ourselves and reflect upon this world and our connection to it.

I was lucky enough to have parents that instilled in me a love for nature and it’s beauty. Since I was a baby, my parents took me camping and I continued that tradition into adulthood, even teaching that same love to my own child. A look at my work is a clear reflection of the love I have for this world’s inhabitants. Whether it be the majestic elephant, or the sly snake, or the glorious eagle, all my illustrations are homages to these inhabitants and I encourage the viewer to reflect upon their beauty and grace.

This is not even the halfway point.

My current project is a large 18”x24” color illustration of a sea turtle. The project was actually started a few years ago and I had decided to put it aside to work on some smaller projects. There have been a lot of issues with this project, including running out of certain color inks, which are no longer available. Due to this, there are slight color variations within the illustrations itself, but they are subtle enough that I don’t believe it affects theoverall composition of the illustrations. I honestly don’t believe I will be able to finish this illustration anytime soon, and I have already had to put it aside to work on a commission piece. I think this project will be a few years in the making, but I do enjoy the progress I have made.

Coming Soon!

I am thrilled to announce that my snake illustration has been invited to this year’s 37th All Colorado at the Depot. It will be on display from July 26th, 2021 through September 11th, 2021. If you are in Littleton, Colorado, please stop by at the Depot and vote for the best in show (I know that all the artists would appreciate your support).

My work can also be seen at Inspired Artisan Market and Studio in Estes, Colorado. The pieces there are all reproduction prints which I have been hand signed and numbered.
